I think the Cardinals went a little TOO far in incorporating their logo into the All-Star game. They really had to make it all about them, huh? With a giant Cardinal sitting there. I really enjoyed the St Louis Arch mowed into the outfield- that was classy, but the logo and the constant adoration for Pujols was a little much. I actually was hoping Pujols would play the whole game so he's tired for next week.

The Prince really was awesome last night. When he first came up to pinch-hit I was thinking not very fair for the big man- only one at-bat. And then he just pummeled it to show how bada$$ he is.

What's up with the AL winning 12 of the last 13 (one fateful tie in MKE)? If it's a case of the AL actually being better, then how come the NL has won 5 World Series in that span. If anything, you'd think if the AL were truly better- they would be 13-0 in the World Series rather than the All-Star game. The All-Star game is only 1 game as opposed to 7. All-Star game should be fairly flukey considering how it's thrown together so last minute.

Meh... I don't think the logo is all that egregious, especially compared to many of the past all-star game logos. http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?id=481 My favorites are still 1954 and of course 1975. I've got a throwback t-shirt of the 1975 Brewer Barrel-Man.

I had a little too much of the Pujols adoration. Probably because I am not drinking the cherry kool-aid they were serving up. Criticizes Brauny for being a show off, but then he's out there pointing to the sky everytime he does something. If you want to give the credit to God, say a quiet prayer. I think he is just as much of a show off he thinks as Brauny is.

I hear what you are saying about the adoration being a bit over the top. All the same, I think it is understandable. Personally, I have the utmost respect for Pujols both for his performance on the field and off. To be frank, I was surprised that I didn't hear more in the coverage about his community involvement. To tip my hand, I live about 3 hours from St. Louis, and go to the Children's Hospital there quite frequently. Both Albert and I have children with Downs Syndrome, but the involvement of the Pujols Family Foundation in St. Louis is truly astounding. (www.pujolsfamilyfoundation.org). In fact, the Pujols Family Foundation, along with the DS Society of St. Louis recently invited our family out for their annual "Walk in the Park" event at Busch Stadium in September, where we can go out on the field during warm-ups for a big-league game. This is really cool, since it is a game against Brewers, which means we'll be down on the field with Prince and Braun and everybody. (If we can afford the tickets, that is.) =\
